info
Fairfield and it's surrounding towns offer many opportunities for trail riding. Thanks to the support of sympathetic homeowners, local land trusts and designated open spaces, the FBTA is able to maintain an extensive network of riding trails in Fairfield County. The FBTA strives to ensure the trails are safe and accessible for horse and rider. For security and liability reasons, our private trail system is only open to riding members on horseback.
On our trails that do cross private property, we ask that riders respect the homeowners kindness by riding on the designated trails, riding safely, and being courteous to our hosts. Please refer to our trail rules.
Don't forget about bow hunting season! Many public lands and private property owners permit deer hunting. You are cautioned to wear an orange vest or hat cover from September 15 - January 15th.
Rifle hunting season is from November 17 - December 7th. Please use extreme caution during this period as the line of sight is much farther away than with a bow and arrow.
Maps of our trails are available for active riding members. To join and receive your maps, mail in the attached membership form with your donation today!
